RANA has more than 50 years’ experience in commercial diving and subsea operations, which includes owning, developing and operating air and saturation diving systems, ROV’s as well as engineering and survey. Workships has been a marine asset manager and vessel operator for nearly 30 years, with extensive experience in the offshore oil & gas and wind industries.
Hendrik ten Hoeve
Rocco started his career within the Rana group as a designer for Res Marina where he focused on the design of equipment to support subsea construction and inspection works. At Res Marina he also acted as a Field Engineer onboard offshore support vessels delivering the projects that he designed. Roco transferred to Rana Diving initially as a Project Engineer and was soon promoted to Project Manager, where he is involved in the preparation and execution of construction projects.
Rocco has a keen interest in learning about the world around him. In additions to his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico delle Marche of Ancona, he holds a Bachelor degree in Marine Biology, and is currently he is attending an International Master in Business Administration (MBA) at the MIP Politecnico di Milano Business School.
In his spare time Rocco practices triathlon and enjoys windsurfing and sailing to embrace his untiring passion for the sea.
Rocco will assist RanaWorks as Project Manager where his skills of designing clever solutions and then executing them will be a benefit to our clients.
Alessandro is a Naval Architect and Mechanical Engineer who has converted his love of the sea and anything mechanical into a career in the offshore industry.
He worked for five years at SBM Offshore in Monaco, firstly as a Project Engineer and subsequently as Sales and Proposal Lead. He then joined Rana Group where he worked his way up through offshore projects, managing Rana Congo, leading the sales department and finally being appointed as CEO. He now spends most of his time between Monaco, Ravenna, Pointe Noire, Rotterdam and where ever the clients are.
Alessandro holds a Bachelor degree in Naval and Marine Engineering magna cum laude from the University of Genoa and a Master of Science in Advanced Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from Imperial College London, where he was awarded best student of the year.
Before university, Alessandro represented Italy in the Laser and 470 Class of sailing for several years and now continues to nurture his passion for sailing whenever can carve out some time for racing with his friends.
Alessandro is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of RanaWorks and is part of the strategy group.
Enrico joined Rana Diving in 2000 as a Field Engineer and Assistant Project Manager before becoming Operations Manager in 2006, where he was responsible for the execution of all offshore projects.
In 2014 Enrico was seconded to the HSE department as Diving Safety Advisor where he assisted the operations and commercial staff. This secondment became permanent with a new role as HSE Manager where he is working hard to bring the Integrated Management System in compliance with the 2015 amendments and a document that reflects ‘the way Rana works’.
Due to his experience in the field and operational background, he is involved in many aspects of offshore projects and diving-related procedures. Enrico will support RanaWorks with his strong, practical approach to safety and compliance in the offshore contracting industry.
Hendrik ten Hoeve joined Workships Contractors BV and RanaWorks BV in 2018 as Managing Director.
His first contact with the marine industry was as a Diving Officer in the Dutch Armed Forces. Following his military service he worked 15 years for SMIT International in a variety of positions including manager of Smit Heavy Lift and Smit Salvage Americas. In 2006 he joined the Compass Group in Singapore as Managing Director.
With Compass Energy he oversaw the engineering, conversion and deployment of a variety of marine assets: an LPG FSO and various MOPU’s. He started Compass Digital Solutions, providing digital solutions to the marine and offshore energy industry and a front-runner in on-site digital inspections. Hendrik remains active on the board of Compass Digital.
Hendrik ten Hoeve has a Masters Degree in Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a degree from Nijenrode University and a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Hendrik enjoys horseriding and has a diploma (with distinction) in Basic Grooming & Stable Management of the British Horse Society.
Piergiorgio is an Italian Bell Diving Supervisor, who before going offshore worked as a police officer and bank clerk. He transferred his passion for the subsea world as a recreational diving instructor in Italy into a career as a commercial diver for Rana Diving in 2002. Working on all kinds of projects between NDT and UW constructions as a Surface Supplied Diver, Saturation Diver and later as a Bell Diving Supervisor, he proved to be a very motivated and adaptive man on Board. As a natural linguist he is a native German speaker with strong skills in Italian, and English and has even acquired some Egyptian Arabic and Spanish along his road.
Piergiorgio is eager to walk new paths and hungry for challenges which is why he will be assisting the RanaWorks team with his subsea expertise.
When not offshore he is happily busy following his duties as a father of a young family, under the command of his wife, who is working as well as a Commercial Diver for Rana Diving. Trying to find hobbies ashore he can’t avoid the backwash to the sea.
Rutger is an enthusiastic and driven Commercial Manager who is at his best when he is able to translate the commercial needs of his clients into an executable project ensuring that all promises are fulfilled. Rutger is focused on nurturing the client relationship and developing long term business partnerships.
Rutger joined the rope access industry ten years ago after starting his career in business consulting. Since then he has been involved in selling, preparing and executing a wide variety of international onshore and offshore topside projects using working at height and rope access techniques. By combining his practical, hands on experience with a consulting background Rutger is able translate the operational knowledge and experience of the last years into the provision and management of efficient integrated solutions.
During the start-up of RanaWorks Rutger has a double role, namely: Commercial Manager and Rope Access Manager.
For Rutger, fun and enjoyment are key, both during work and beyond. He charges his battery by climbing, running, cycling, golf and cooking & dining.
Sicco is a Dutch marine engineer with a long experience in managing a wide variety of projects and vessel in the offshore and maritime industries. He joined RanaWorks sister company, Workships Contractors in 2009 as a Technical Superintendent and was promoted to Technical Manager in 2015. He has both operational and management experience of dynamically positioned ships and is often requested by investors to perform pre-purchase inspections of complex offshore vessels. He has overseen the operation, construction, conversion, sale and purchase of all the vessels that Workships has operated in the offshore wind industry.
Sicco supports RanaWorks as Operations Manager ensuring that the Project Managers have the resources they need and acting as an interface with clients.
When not inspecting vessels or managing projects Siccoo is working on his boat or walking the dog with the family.
